Someone may enter Samaritan Village homeless, without an education and jobless but when they complete treatment, they... have housing, have a job skill, and prepared to reenter the community.

Programs such as Remedial and GED Educational Services are provided so that opportunity through education is available and accessible. Education alone doesn't prepare individuals for the workplace, so we provide Vocational Counseling, Workshops, and Training Programs to all clients.

Some individuals require Mental Health Services, so all clients who require psychiatric help can see an onsite Psychiatrist. Clients may also see Certified Social Workers for weekly counseling. Recovery means having peace of mind and harmony with oneself and others. With this in mind, Samaritan Village has groups that include Psycho-Educational Lectures for all clients. Substance abuse tears families apart; therefore, Family Reunification Services are central to treatment. We believe that treatment means being a productive member of society and reunited with family.

Samaritan Village provides accessible onsite primary medical care. Five residential facilities have co-located Primary Care Clinics. The red ribbon symbol of the HIV/AIDS epidemic is on a flag that flies at administrative headquarters in Briarwood, Queens to demonstrate the organization's abiding commitment to serve all who need help. We have provided services to individuals with HIV/AIDS for over two decades; we were there in the beginning of the health crisis. Our HIV Services include primary medical care, HIV counseling and testing, support groups, and a family program for those affected by HIV.

We are committed to achieving a diverse workforce at all levels of the organization. Staff believes that treatment means that you treat people as you would like to be treated. This fundamental principle applies to clients, vendors, and fellow employees.

We believe in asking our clients about our performance and each year we conduct a Client Satisfaction Survey to give our clients a voice. We use this survey to help us invent new technologies and build better programs.

Here at Samaritan we employ a team of professionals that include Doctors, Nurses, Licensed Master Social Workers, Certified Rehabilitation Counselors, Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselors, as well as a host of support service staff all working together to meet the needs of the clients, their families and the community. Our staff work as a team. We reverse the inevitable outcomes of active substance abuse: incarceration, despair, hopelessness, and death. We believe that treatment works.
